Our teacher training is held one weekend a month (Sat. & Sun. Noon - 6:00 pm & Four selected Fridays from 6:00-10:00 pm) for 10 months over a 10-12 month period. 2 months are set aside for your internship and during this time you are not required to meet with the group (this makes the entire training 12 months long), and one month involves retreat attendance for an entire weekend (Friday 6:00 pm to Sunday 1:00 pm). We limit our training to 15 students to assure a very personal and high quality, well supervised training.

  SYNOPSIS:

Basic Elements of Developing/Teaching a General Yoga Class That Includes Centering Techniques; Intelligent Sequencing (opening the class, the meat or foundation of the class and closing the class); Basic Breathing, Concentration, Relaxation & Purification Techniques; Principles of Alignment Energetically and Functionally; Demonstrating, Cuing, Modifiying, Propping and Hands on Adjusting; Chanting; Savasana.

The 10-12 month long 250 hour training is intensive and requires full attendance or the abilty to make-up any missed sessions by completing extra work.

FEES:

A non-refundable $175.00 deposit is required 1 month prior to the start date with the balance of the deposit $325.00 due one week prior to the first session. The remaining balance of $1,500.00 is due by the first session. There is retreat fee of $300.00 which is due no later than 6 weeks prior to the retreat (the retreat is generally held during the ninth month). Additional expenses include books (approx. $200.00 or so). 

NOTE: A payment plan can be arranged for a 10% increase in fees. & late payments will be assessed a 20% increase in the payment that is past due. 

Refunds will NOT be made except under dire circumstances and at the discretion of the Program Director. You may re-enroll if you cannot complete the training at a later date. No-one will ever be turned away from any of the trainings or workshops based upon an inability to pay. If finances are a problem for you, you may speak to Jeri privately and she will help you work something out. 

THE TRAINING:

The FORMAL TRAINING is systematic and skill oriented. Students will be required to develop and teach an 8-week general yoga class series as an internship to at least 3 students and his/her mentor as well as meet 5 times to practice teach with an assigned mentor outside of scheduled training times.* Homework includes a home practice and journaling, extensive reading and written assignments, assistance and observation in classes taught by others outside of the training times, particpation in a self chose 6 month Karma Yogi Project (seva or service), attendance to four 3-hour posture clinics outside of the training times (every other month on a Friday evening except for the last month), and full retreat attendance. Please note that CPR certification is highly encouraged. 

The INFORMAL TRAINING requires an effort to mindfully and joyfully live your practice outside of the classroom.

*you may opt out of the practicum if you do not desire to teach, but will not be eligible for Yoga Alliance Registration.
